     Jane Waterbury Whelpley was born circa 1817 at Saint John, Saint John County, New Brunswick, British North America.1 She was the daughter of William Whelpley and Mabel Thomas. As of 28 May 1838,her married name was Vaughn.

In this city, St. John Co., 28th ult., by Rev. Samuel Bancroft, Capt. William VAUGHAN of Saint Martins / Jane WHELPLEY second d/o William WHELPLEY, late of this city.3
