Margaret O'Toole was born on 26 September 1897 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,4,5 She was the daughter of John Francis O'Toole and Ellen Madden. Margaret, age 2, appeared on the US Census of 1900 living at 716 West Carson Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, John Francis and Ellen O'Toole.5 Margaret, age 12, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living at 271 South Main Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, John Francis and Ellen O'Toole.3 Circa 1918, Margaret graduated from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Before her marriage, she taught at the Luckey School in the West End of Pittsburgh.1 Margaret, age 22, appeared on the US Census of 1920 living at 29 Wabash Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of her widowed father, John Francis O'Toole; He was a widower.6 According to the Federal Census in 1920, Margaret was a teacher. She and John James Scully were engaged on 18 July 1923;

Margaret O'Toole died on 27 October 1926 at St. Roselia Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at age 29 from lobar pneumonia from child birth.1,4,11,12 Margaret's obituary of 28 October 1926, reads:
Margaret was buried on 30 October 1926 at Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in plot 1-117-6.4,12

"Peg was calm, easy-going, generous, quick to laughter. she was wonderful with Eileen..... She was good with her hands, could sew and make things for the baby to play with. For many years, the ornaments she made for Eileen's first Christmas decorated our trees.1"
