Captain François LeRoy dit Audy was born circa 1683 at Kingston, Province of New York.1,2,3,4 He was the son of Siméon LeRoy dit Audy and Claude Des Chalets.1 François moved to Kingston, Province of New York, with his parents, Siméon and Claude LeRoy after 1686.1,4
Captain François LeRoy dit Audy married Celetje Jans Damen, daughter of Jan Corneliszen Damen and Sophia Martense, in 1705 at the what is now Dutchess County, Province of New York.
François and Celetjemoved to Poughkeepsie, Province of New York, in 1709 after buying a plot of land from Myndert Harnenszen.2 Both Franéois and Celetje were early members of the Dutch Church in Poughkeepsie.2 François and Celetje Jans Damen were known to be living in 1710 at Poughkeepsie, Province of New York.1 He was an assessor for Poughkeepsie in 1719. He served again in 1723 and from 1727 to 1728.2 François was ordained in 1720 a deacon in the Dutch Church.2 François was ordained in 1739 an elder.2 François wrote his will on 22 December 1759 at Poughkeepsie, Province of New York.2
