The Rev. William Valentine Hillary Sullivan

     The Rev. William Valentine Hillary Sullivan was born on 13 January 1900 at St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.¹ He was the son of John J. Sullivan Sullivan J.P., K.P.M and Mary Ellen McCourt. When his father died, on 18 October 1918, William lived at Toronto, Ontario, Canada, studying for the priesthood at St. Augustine's Seminary.² William, age 21, appeared on the Newfoundland Census of 1921 at St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, in the household of his widowed mother, Mary Ellen and McCourt.³ William, age 20 years, appeared on the Newfoundland Census of 1921 at St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, living with his widowed mother.³ He was ordained on 24 June 1923.⁴ William, age 34 years, appeared on the Newfoundland Census of 1935 at Pouch Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador.⁵ William, age 44 years, appeared on the Newfoundland Census of 1945 at Pouch Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador.⁶ He died on 29 October 1961 at St Clare's Hospital, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, at age 61.^1,7 William was buried at Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Cemetery, Pouch Cove, Avalon Peninsula Census Division, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.¹
