     William Francis Sullivan was born on 14 May 1854 at St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.1 He was the son of Florence Michael Sullivan and Ann Hanlon.

William Francis Sullivan, age 20, married Jessie Mary Elizabeth Ewing, age 16 , daughter of Alexander Miller Ewing and Jane Seward, on 30 April 1875 at St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.
