Dorothy Verda Nims

     Dorothy Verda Nims was born on 31 March 1916 at New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of William Guy Nims and Evelyn Goodwin.¹ Dorothy, age 3, appeared on the US Census of 1920 living at New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, William Guy and Evelyn Nims.⁴ Dorothy, age 14, appeared on the US Census of 1930 living at 1017 Third Place, Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, William Guy and Evelyn Nims.⁵

Dorothy married first on 25 May 1933 at Chautauqua, Chautauqua County, New York, Osborn Free Moore. He was born 25 June 1911 in Waterford, Pennsylvania and died in 1985. They were divorced in August 1959 in Orange County, Florida.


Dorothy, age 23 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 on Cherry Stree, Waterford, Erie County, Pennsylvania, with her first husband, Osborn Moore.⁸

Dorothy married second in 1950 Robert Reginald Hatch. He was born in 1906 and died in 1969. They were divorced.^9,10 Dorothy, age 33 years, appeared on the US Census of 1950 on 149 East 27th Street, Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania, with her second husband, Robert Hatch.¹⁰ As of 27 January 1956,her married name was Burnett.¹

Dorothy Verda Nims, age 39, married Norman William Burnett, age 52 , son of Francis William Burnett and Vera May Lord, on 27 January 1956 at Wytheville, Wythe County, Virginia. They had no children together.¹ Dorothy Verda Nims died on 27 December 2007 at Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, at age 91.^2,3 Dorothy was buried at Lakeside Cemetery, Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania.²
