     Joanna Cheney was born on 26 May 1728 at Mendon, Massachusetts.1,2,3 She was the daughter of William Cheney and Joanna Thayer.1 She was received into communion in the Church of Milford in 1744.2 As of 13 March 1754,her married name was Ballou.2
