     Edith M. Whelpley was born in 1865 at New Brunswick, Canada.1,2 She was the daughter of Captain David C. Whelpley and Harriet Jane Pangbourne. Edith M. Whelpley went by the nick-name of Ellie. Edith appeared on the Canadian Census of 1881 at Lepreau, New Brunswick, Canada, in the household of her parents, David C. and Harriet Jane Whelpley.1 As of 24 December 1895,her married name was Bagley.

Edith M. Whelpley married George Custer Bagley, age 26 , son of Cyrus Ransom Bagley and Jennie Olive Sleeper, on 24 December 1895 at the Fitchburg, Massachusetts.3,4,2 Edith, age 35 years, and George Bagley, age 30 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 at Fitchburg, Massachusetts.2 Edith, age 55 years, and George Bagley, age 50 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 at San Francisco, California.5 Edith M. Whelpley died on 26 January 1925 at San Francisco, California.6

Birth: According to the 1881 Canadian Census she was born in 1865, however, the 1900 US Census states she was born in November 1900. Was she shaving years off her age?
