     Oliver Whelpley was born on 7 January 1756 at Greenwich, Connecticut Colony.1 He was the son of Darling Whelpley and Abigail Peck. In 1777, he deserted from the American Army.2,3 Oliver moved to Colony of Nova Scotia (now New Brunswick), British North America, with his parents, Darling and Abigail Whelpley in 1783.4 He later made a claim for his home and land confiscated when he escaped to New Brunswick.3 Oliver Whelpley died in 1767 at Kingston, Colony of Nova Scotia (now New Brunswick), British North America.5

Death: His death is listed as 1767 in Kingston, New Brunswick in Geneanet and Ancestry Family Trees. This would have placed his death before the Revolutionary War, clearly an error.
