     Betsey Smith was born on 17 January 1779 at New Gloucester, Massachusetts (Maine).1,2,3,4 She was the daughter of Josiah Smith and Esther Pool.1 As of 6 March 1800,her married name was Woodman.1 Betsey Smith and Jonathan Woodman filed marriage intentions on 6 March 1800 at New Gloucester, Massachusetts (Maine).5

Betsey Smith, age 21, married Jonathan Woodman, age 27 , son of David Woodman and Mary Hackett, on 6 March 1800 at New Gloucester, Massachusetts (Maine). They had no children together.1,3,4,6,7 Betsey, age 70 years, appeared on the US Census of 1850 at Norway, Maine, living with Stephen Greenwood and Lavina Smith.8 She died on 28 February 1856 at Norway, Maine, at age 77.1,3,9 Betsey was buried at Rustfield Cemetery, Norway, Maine.10,9
