Jonathan Woodman was born on 16 September 1772 at New Gloucester, Province of Massachusetts Bay (Maine), the twin of David.1,2,3,4,5
He was the son of David Woodman and Mary Hackett.1 Jonathan Woodman was In 1796 at Norway, Oxford County, Maine, Jonathan Woodman was taxed 28¢. in 1796 at Norway, Massachusetts (Maine).6,2 Jonathan, appeared on the US Census of 1800 at Norway, Massachusetts (Maine). The enumeration reads:

Jonathan Woodman, age 27, married Betsey Smith, age 21 , daughter of Josiah Smith and Esther Pool, on 6 March 1800 at New Gloucester, Massachusetts (Maine). They had no children together.1,4,8,9,10
Between 1801 and 1802, Jonathan served as as a Selectman at Norway, Massachusetts (Maine). He served again from 1819 to 1821.6 Bradbury (1986), in his Norway in the Fourties, says of him: "He was careful and circumspect under all discouraging circumstances and thought of his steps and his appearance in the barn and field with as great care as in his neighbor's house or church. ... He was a pleasant gentleman of medium height, stooping shoulders, a clean-shaved beard, tidy in appearance and spoke in a decided quiet tone, measuring his words and completing his sentences as he measured his grain and fully completed the bushels.2" He died on 21 July 1850 at Norway, Maine, at age 77.1,4,6,11 Jonathan was buried at Rustfield Cemetery, Norway, Maine.11
