Debbie Evans Himler,
Thomas J. Myers wed
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe, was the setting Sept. 20 when Debbie Evans Himler of Latrobe and Thomas J. FO Myers of Latrobe were united in marriage.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Evans of Latrobe. The bridegroom is the son of James H. Myers Sr., also of Latrobe.
One hundred twenty-five guests were present for the afternoon, double-ring ceremony, officiated by the Rev. Fred Opalinski assisted by Sister Corrine Myers of Virginia, sister of bridegroom.
Presented in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in an ivory gown which had a fitted chiffon bodice and Queen Anne collar, covered with re-embroidered Chantilly lace (scactered with pearls) which ruffled into a keyhole neckline. The long chiffon skirt in the front had two flounces of chiffon and lace along the hemline leading into the stacked, layered, lace ruffles that made the cathedral-length train. Her Juliet cap, covered with matching lace and pearls, held a three-layer, waltz-length veil.
The bride also kept with tradition by wearing something old (pearl necklace and pearl earrings), something borrowed (penny from her paternal grandmother) and something blue (garter). She carried a bouquet of off-white roses.
Linda L. Smith of Latrobe, matron of honor for her sister, wore a royal blue, shimmery satin, full-length gown. The embroidered, fitted bodice had gathered bell sleeves that connected to form the square neckline. She carried a bouquet (white and blue roses and carnations) created by the bride.
James H. Myers Jr. of Latrobe handled duties of best man for his brother.
Guests were received in Latrobe FO Eagles. Following a honeymoon trip 1 to Seven Springs, the couple is at home in Latrobe.
Sorry Charlie was the site for the rehearsal dinner.
The bride is a Greater Latrobe Senior High School graduate, working at the FOE in Latrobe as assistant steward.
A graduate of the same high school, the bridegroom is employed by Westinghouse Corp., Blairsville, as a senior technician.
