On 28 May 1650 in Sowerby, George made his will calling himself a clothier. It reads as follows:
The last Will and Testament off George Fearebanke off Sowerby in ye Vickeridge off Haliffax and Countie off Yorke Clothier May 28th 1650 Conserninge ye Disposall off all my worldly goods. First my will and minde is yt all my lawfull debts funerall expenses and charges I haue put James Platts to in this my sickness be paied out of my whole Estate & then my will and minde is as followeth. Imprimis I giue & bequaith to Mr Henerie Roolt fortie shillings. I giue & bequaith to the power [poor] of Sowerby the Sum'e off fortie shillings to be distributed amongst them as my executor shall thinke most fitt. I giue and bequaith to John Hargraues of Higham fortie shillings. I giue & bequaith to Michaell Fairebanke my brother xls. I giue & bequaith to my brother Deanes Children wch he had by my Sister xls. I giue and bequaith to my brother John Axenoppe xls. I giue and bequaith to Ellis Nutter & his wife xls. I giue and bequaith to my brother Jeremias wife & Children xxxxs equally to be divided amongst them. I giue & bequaith to the children off Henerie Blackley he had by my sister Abigall xxs. I giue & bequaith to Mr Jonathan Fearebanke xxs. I giue & bequaith to Sushan Chadwick ffiue pounds. I giue & bequaith to George Fairebanke sonne of George ffairebanke ye sum'e off 5 £. I giue & bequaith to Abraham Platts ye sum'e off 6 £. I giue & bequaith to Nathan Battes sonne of Matthew Battes xs. I giue to Henerie Stanup xijd. I giue to Nathan Hoylroyd ijs vid. I giue & bequaith to James Platts wth whom I now live x£ as also a newe peece off cloath Tanney c[ou]ller to bee him a sutt & all such things as to make itt upp compleatt for weareinge. I giue & bequaith to Samuell Farrer ye summe off 5£ pvided hee bee Liueinge twelue monthes after my death Allwayes pvided & my will and mind is yt my Executor shall not pay anie Legacyes till the suites now commenced against any pson or psons bee fully ended & iff itt soe fall out yt ye suitee or sutiees commenced doe call for & expend more then is expected so yt theire is not sufficient to pay ye legacyes given Then my will & mind is yt eu'ry one shall baite off his Legacie accordinge as my Estate shall fall shorte. ye resedue off all my goods Cattels & Chattels undisposed off I giue and bequaith to James Jur Platts whome I ordaine & appointe sole Executor off this my last will & Tetamentt and I doe hearby revoke all other wills whatsour. In Witness whereof I haue put my hand. In ye pesence of Witnesses
