Leo Paul Gallagher was born on 12 January 1887 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York.1,2,3,4,5 He was the son of Francis Gallagher and Anna Elizabeth Donovan. Leo, age 13, appeared on the US Census of 1900 living at 235 Oak Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York,in the household of his parents, Frank and Anna Elizabeth Gallagher.1 Leo, age 18, appeared on the New York State Census of 1905 living at Binghamton, Broome County, New York,in the household of his parents, Francis and Anna Elizabeth Gallagher.6 Leo, age 23, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living at 235 Oak Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York,in the household of his parents, Frank and Anna Elizabeth Gallagher. He was a grocery salesman.7 Leo Paul Gallagher and an unknown person obtained a marriage license on 14 April 1913 at Broome County, New York.8 Leo and an unknown person wedding announcement of 15 April 1913, reads:
The marriage of Miss Margaret L. Ryan and Leo P. Gallagher was solemnized at 6 o'clock this morning at St. Paul's Church. Rev.
J. V. Simonds performed the ceremony, after which a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride on Munsell street to the immediate relatives. The bridesmaid was Gertrude Fitzgerald, while A. S. Gallagher, A brother of the groom, acted as best man.
Mrs. Gallagher is a popular young woman of this city and Mr. Gallagher is an employee of the the Newell & Truesdell Company. The young couple left at 11 o'clock for a wedding trip, including Meet York and Washington. Upon their return they will reside in this city.

Leo, age 27 years, and Margaret, age 27 years , appeared on the New York State Census of 1915 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York.11 On 5 June 1917, Leo registered for the World War I draft, while living at 233 Oak Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York, giving his age as 30 and his employer as the A&P Tea Company.4
Leo, age 32 years, and Margaret Gallagher, age 32 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York.12 According to the Federal Census in 1920, Leo was the manager of a grocery store.12 Leo, age 37 years, and Margaret, age 37 years , appeared on the New York State Census of 1925 at Binghamton, Broome County, New York.13 Leo, age 42 years, and Margaret, age 42 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 on 10 Chestnut Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York.14 According to the Federal Census in 1930, Leo was the superintendent of a chain grocery store.14 Leo, age 52 years, and Margaret, age 52 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 on 10 Chestnut Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York.15 According to the Federal Census in 1940, Leo was the superintendent of a chain grocery store.15 On in 1942, Leo registered for the World War II draft, while living at 10 Chestnut Street, Binghamton, Broome County, New York, giving his age as 55 and his employer as the A&P Tea Company.5
When his mother died, in March 1943, Leo lived at Binghamton, Broome County, New York.16 He died on 25 March 1968 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, Broome County, New York, at age 81.2,17,3,18 Leo's obituary of 27 March 1968, reads:

GALLAGHER—Leo P. Gallagher, 81, 10 Chestnut St., died Monday at 6 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, after long illness. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. F. Gerard Hughes, Chenango Bridge, Mrs. John R. Cox, Chenango Bridge; two sons, John F. Gallagher, and William P. Gallagher, both of Binghamton; 20 grandchildren; two brothers, Aloysius Patrick F. J. Gallagher, Drexel Hill, Pa., Sewell, N. J; also several nieces and nephews. He was a District Superintendent of the A&P, retiring in 1953 after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 206 and its Fourth Degree Assemble, of St. Patrick's Church and its Holy Name Society and the United Commercial Travelers for 50 years. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a. m. Thursday at the McDevitt Brothers Funeral Home, 88-90 Front St. and at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
