     Luva Estelle Burnett was born on 17 September 1916 at Northampton, Massachusetts.1,2,3,4,5 She was the daughter of Francis William Burnett and Vera May Lord. Luva Estelle Burnett went by the nick-name of Betty. Luva, age 13, appeared on the US Census of 1930 living at 322 Broadway, Bangor, Maine,in the household of her mother, Vera May Drillen and step-father, Ernest Freeman Drillen.6 As of 1942,her married name was Brewers.

Luva Estelle Burnett married John Brewers in 1945.1 Luva and John were divorced in 1957.1 Her married name was Wood.

Luva Estelle Burnett married Charles Wood.1 In 1998, the year Luva died, she lived on Parsonage Street, Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.3 She died on 11 March 1998 in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, at age 81.3,2,5 Luva's obituary of 13 March 1998, reads:

Luva Wood, 81, of Parsonage Street, Pittston, died Wednesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, she was a patient for the past week. Born Sept. 17, 1916, in Massachusetts, she was daughter of the late Dillon and Vera Burnette. She resided in Staten Island, N.Y., for most of her life and resided in Pittston for the past five years. Before she retired, she was employed as a nurse in various New York hospitals.

She was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters. Surviving are her husband, Charles; daughters, Angel Wood, Pittston; Gina Gunther, Kunkletown; Charlotte Brewers, Staten Island, N.Y.: 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, 134 Church St., Pittston. There will be no calling hours.
