Richard Clifford was born on 27 March 1698 at Hampton, Colony of New Hampshire.1,2,3,4 He was the son of Isreal Clifford and Ann Smith.
Richard married first on 26 December 1721 at Hampton, Colony of New Hampshire, Hephzibah Basford, at age 22, daughter of Jacob Basford and Elizabeth Clifford. She was born on 28 June 1699 at Hampton, New Hampshire.
On 1738, he signed a petition to create a new parish in the eastern part of Kingston.1 He and Judith Woodman filed marriage intentions on 17 December 1741 at Newbury, Province of Massachusetts Bay.5,6,7,8,9,10
