Albert Travis

     Albert Travis was born in March 1855 at Mamakating, Sullivan County, New York.¹ He was the son of William Travis and Eliza Maria Schoonmaker. Albert Travisappeared on the census of 1855 in the household of an unknown person and Eliza Maria Schoonmaker.² Albert, age 5, appeared on the US Census of 1860 living at Mamakating, Sullivan County, New York,in the household of his parents, William and Eliza Maria Travis.³ Albert, age 16, appeared on the US Census of 1870 living at Mamakating, Sullivan County, New York,in the household of his parents, William and Eliza Maria Travis.⁴

Albert Travis, age 42, married Lillian Bliss, age 20 , daughter of Alfred Riley Bliss and Sophia Delphine Knowles, on 3 July 1897 at Corning, Steuben County, New York.



Albert, age 44 years, and Lillian Travis, age 23 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 at Hector Township, Potter County, Pennsylvania.¹ According to the Federal Census in 1900, Albert was a blacksmith.¹ Albert, age 54 years, and Lillian Travis, age 33 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at Canisteo, Steuben County, New York.⁷ According to the Federal Census in 1910, Albert was a blacksmith.⁷ Albert, age 64 years, and Lillian, age 43 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 on South Street, Addison, Steuben County, New York.⁸ According to the Federal Census in 1920, Albert was a wood worker.⁸ Albert, age 69 years, and Lillian, age 48 years , appeared on the New York State Census of 1925 at Addison, Steuben County, New York.⁹ Albert Travis died on 9 January 1929 at Corning Hospital, Corning, Steuben County, New York, at age 73.^6,10,11 Albert's death notice of 12 January 1929, reads:
