Anne Theresa Travis

     Anne Theresa Travis was born on 23 July 1896 at Port Jervis, Orange County, New York.^1,2,3,4,5,6 She was the daughter of George William Travis and Margaret E. Sexton. Anne, age 3, appeared on the US Census of 1900 living at Deerpark, Orange County, New York,in the household of her parents, George William and Margaret E. Travis.³ Anne, age 14, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living at Canal Street, Middletown, Orange County, New York,in the household of her parents, George William and Margaret E. Travis.⁷ Anne Theresa Travis and an unknown person obtained a marriage license on 1 November 1913 at Orange County, New York.^8,9 As of 5 November 1913,her married name was Sweet.⁸

Anne Theresa Travis, age 17, married Charles Wilkin Sweet, age 19 , son of Frederick F. Sweet and Mary Wilkin, on 5 November 1913 at the Webb Memorial Presbyterian Church, Middletown, Orange County, New York.



Anne, age 18 years, and Charles, age 20 years , appeared on the New York State Census of 1915 at Middletown, Orange County, New York.¹² Anne, age 23 years, and Charles, age 25 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 on 95 East Main Street, Middletown, Orange County, New York, Charles' mother lived with them.¹³ Anne, age 28 years, and Charles, age 30 years , appeared on the New York State Census of 1925 at Middletown, Orange County, New York.¹⁴ Anne and Charlesmoved to Hartford, Connecticut, in 1929.^4,15 Anne, age 33 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 on 27 Orange Street, Hartford, Connecticut. She is listed as married, but her husband does not appear on the census record.¹⁵ According to the Federal Census in 1930, Anne was a checker in a laundry.¹⁵ As of 26 January 1946,her married name was Kelleher.

Anne Theresa Travis, age 49, married William J. Kelleher, age 44 , son of William Kelleher and Mary Cahill, on 26 January 1946 at Hartford, Connecticut. They had no children together.^16,17 Anne, age 53 years, and William, age 48 years, appeared on the US Census of 1950 on 81 Rohde Street, Hartford, Connecticut.¹⁸ When her mother died in March 1952, Anne lived at Hartford, Connecticut.¹⁹ Anne and Williammoved to Ellington, Connecticut, in 1954.⁴ Anne Theresa Travis died on 4 May 1982 at Rockville General Hospital, Vernon, Connecticut, at age 85.^1,2,4,5 Anne's obituary of 5 May 1982, reads:
